Rowdy Peetam

Content manager game database, movie database

Hi, I'm Rowdy, born and raised in Assendelft - also known as 'Pearl Of De Zaan' - where I live with my lovely wife, our two beautiful kids and a sweet psychopathic cat called Eef.

It seems like centuries ago when my dad introduced me to Pong and I haven't really recovered from the impact video games had on me since then. Years later, when I started delivering newspapers, the first amount of money I saved was spent on both a Nintendo Entertainment System and a Sega Megadrive and I got even more hooked on video games. I played a lot of games, but titles like Road Rash, Wolfenstein 3D for the SNES and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time are some of my personal all-time favorites.

Nowadays, besides playing games great games like Modern Warfare 2 and Heavy Rain on my Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, I also enjoy watching movies and TV series. Furthermore I enjoy reading the works of Stephen King, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Dean Koontz and Fred Händl amongst others.

I studied at the Economic College in Zaandam and spent a lot of my spare time playing videogames and reading about them in various English game magazines, such as the utterly brilliant Mean Machines. I still have those magazines and every now and then I leaf through them for the sake of nostalgia.

Reading these magazines I realized I wanted to do exactly the same thing guys like Julian Rignall and Richard Leadbetter did: play games and write about them in all sorts of ways. My luck came when ID&T asked me to review games and movies for their magazine, Thunder Magazine. I've also been working as a free-lancer for the biggest gaming website in Holland; GameZ.nl. In this period I wrote a lot of reviews, previews and specials of soon-to-be-released games. I also visited various game events and during those events I even got to meet and interview legendary games developers David Doak and Yoshiki Okamoto. Ah, memories.

As a Content Manager I'm the one responsible for processing your submissions and I just love it when - every now and then - someone decides to submit covers belonging to long forgotten video games, or early 80's VHS movies. Best job in the world? It just might be.
